Installation: THE FOUR SEASONS

Le Quattro Stagioni

The installation designed for a brazilian friend, a great traveler and lover of Italy, of its beauties and of nature that varies over the course of the year, represents the four seasons.

His beautiful home, isolated in uncontaminated nature, is surrounded by a large garden and set in an environment that remains virtually unchanged throughout the year.

So I imagined creating „arches/doors“ with the symbols of our seasons that could be crossed, walking in the garden, to ideally enter new temporal spaces, which change over time.

I made drawings and some models. where shapes and colors are protagonists.

During the implementation phase, the client preferred to have the four panels made, in cut iron plates, as planned, but maintaining the natural color and inserting them in a semicircle in a space dedicated to the meeting.

The result, while altering my idea of a dynamic installation, which has become static and simply representative, convinced me, because it takes on a new meaning: the sculptures do not obstruct the vision of the landscape, but, through the transparencies created by the shapes of the carvings, they soften it and give the observer an original point of view on the surrounding environment.
